How to Compare Flight Prices

Reading a results page properly — what to compare beyond the headline number.

The headline fare is a starting point

Two results at similar prices can be very different products. One may include a checked bag and a free change; the other may charge for a cabin bag. Compare what you would actually pay once your real luggage is included.

Look at the connection, not just the duration

A short connection in a large hub can be tighter than a longer one in a small airport, and a change of terminal or a re-check of baggage adds real time. On self-transfers — where the two legs are separate tickets — a missed connection is your responsibility.

Arrival and departure times have a cost

A 05:40 departure may need a taxi rather than a bus. A 01:30 arrival may need an extra hotel night. Neither shows up in the fare, and both are real money.

What metasearch does and does not do

Sky Seeker compares what airlines and travel agencies are publishing for your search at that moment and links you to them. We do not sell tickets, add fees, or hold your booking, and prices can change on the provider's site if inventory moves while you are deciding.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the price change when I click through?

Airline inventory moves continuously. If the cheapest fare class sells while you are comparing, the provider will show the next available price.

Are cheaper travel agency fares safe?

Most are, but service quality varies when things go wrong. Read the change and cancellation terms before booking, especially for connecting itineraries.

Does Sky Seeker add a fee to the fare?

No. You pay the airline or travel agency's own price on their site.
